In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media?

Looking back to your preliminary task, what do you feel that you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?

The process I went through to construct my product is that I first had to do research analysis to understand my genre (indie rock) as well as know the historical contents and researching indie rock bands throughout the ages. Doing a research analysis helped me to understand the style of indie rock, why it is different from alternative rock and people who are into that type of genre, using the internet for research espically YouTube which gives you a faster  visual learning. Using the internet I made an online questionnaire soft ware, Survey Monkey for people to fill in about what they think about the indie rock genre. Using an online questionnaire helped get results faster and more organised other than doing it manually.  What magazines they have heard of, favourite colour scheme and artist they listen to, this has helped me construct the way I laid out my magazine and what to put there. Using a bridge and LSR camera to take my photos for my production has helped me to experiment different camera techniques such as manual focus along with experimenting different angles to take photos, such as low angle, high angle, mid shot, long shot etc. Which are all effective. Also experimenting with light low key lighting and natural lighting taking photography in the studio or outdoors. Throughout the production I used Google to search images of music magazines to get inspiration and compare mine with them, YouTube to help me use the software Photoshop also went through music websites such NME and Rolling Stone. The post production I used to create my magazine was Photoshop. How I used a ranged of web applications and web online forums to showcase my research is registering to them such as prezi, creating a presentation then embedding it to my blog.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The publishing house that might own my magazine.

Bauer Media Group would publish my magazine as it is a European based media company it reachers over 22 million UK consumers every week  and my magazine is promotes young indie artist in Britain. The company handles 600 magazines, 400 digital products 50 radio stations and TV stations worldwide. They publish magazines such as Mojo, Q, then they made Q magazine expand to QTV and QRadio specialise in indie and rock alternative music also created Q awards. They also publish Kerrang magazine and their TV and Radio. Bauer Media Group has taken over 50% of British television company Box Television and the other half owned by Channel4 , together they produce popular TV music channels which include 4Music, Magic, Smash Box and Kiss. They have been rewarded as industry innovators.

How they will be distributed.

My magazine will be distributed by being sold in traditional newsagents and given away in gigs, concerts and music festivals. Newsagents for customers who like buying it the old fashioned way gives it a retro feel, as well as buying it where live music is, it is easy to find a mass of  consumers who are all into the same kind of music. My magazine also has a website that fans can subscribe to, along with its own app and use of social media for fans to share magazine articles and also circulate through the internet, to get recognition and it is easier for music enthusiasts to find my music magazine. It is a monthly magazine the reason is that because it is also a review magazine, that reviews albums, concerts and technology their is a range of things to talk about. For example it could an issue of Bangerang magazine could be published in October reviewing new pair of headphones that will be released in November.A month early so that music fans are sure whether they will like to purchase it.

According to NME the rock genre has taken over  pop music recently. In 2011, 2012 and 2013 records such as AM from Arctic Monkeys and Jake Bugg's Shangri La reports The Guardian. 40% of 10,000 of the best selling albums in the UK in 2013 were classified as rock but best selling LP's were pop.  Spokesperson of BPI Gennaro says "While the appeal of pop remains consistent, the popularity of rock music tends to ebb and flow a little more, reflecting as it does the excitement that can quickly build around new acts as they burst through. The Guardian claims that NME and Q magazine have sufferd sales with sales gone down 16.7% nevertheless Bauer had reported sales of 64,596. Kerrang sales have dropped by 4.5% year on year to 40,203 and Mojo which is their best selling dropped by 2.7% year on year to 85,149.

Double trouble Tottenham based Mathemetallica tells Bangerang TV that they were cleary no ‘Master Of Numbers’ as Vocalist and Bassist Via Verdana  laughed, “Maths? I F*cking that sh*t!”  despite the fact it is the name of their best selling  album earning their fourth consecutive album  in the country, the record hit 903,200 copies worldwide in the first two days of the release making it the fastest selling album on the ITunes  store.

Now a’ 2 girl band’ after Maggy Gerald got a little too wild partying with Prince of Sweden (Steve) off stage finding herself locked behind bars that night after guest complained at the Valley Hotel disturbance from the room above.  Gera;d was found in a pool of blood, with the room in a violent rampage. The guitarist and back up vocalist smashed her head on the mirror, claiming to hear voices in her head whilst in a drug-and-booze filled fury, rushed to hospital to be treated after the police were called to the scene. She is now facing charges of drug possession as hashish and heroin substances were found in her purse.

 Friends and the band members recalled that the normally shy peacemaking musician was apt to become aggressive, stubborn and obscene if she drank, the two remaining artist made no comment of this sudden event.  But Maggy last tweeted, “ I’m tired of everything.”  Puzzled fans coming up with, ‘#WhereIsMaggy?’ buzzing on Twitter when vocalist and bassist Via Verdana and drummist , Samantha Eron  performed at Poetic Justice Cafe celebrating the realest of ‘Master Of Numbers’ with no sign of Maggy.  Avoiding the questions from fans on our Bangerang Tweet Tuesdays Live about Maggy, they bursted into to laughter after a fan tweeted, ‘So...are you really masters   of numbers?”  Both confessed they did not enjoy the perks of being at school, “We actually flopped our GCSE’s.At least I went to the exam..,” Samantha glanced at Via who rolled her eyes, “What was the point of me going, if I was doomed to fail anyways? I’m smart. I just chose not be...school isn’t for everyone and it wasn’t certainly for me...hey that rhymes,ha!”, then Samantha followed with, “It’s a miracle you got a C in English,”  and Via responded, “Thanks to the most incredible English teacher, who seemed to be the only one who believed in me, taught me how to express myself through poetry...and here I am best singer and song writer of 2014 and of a band!” Via mentioned being influenced by Pete Seeger, ‘Words that carry depth meaning,’ also inspired by feminist poet Carol Ann Duffy , “Words of wisdom from that woman..”.

                                   Samantha ranted about the Anglo Saxon  school system and the  neglect they had on her friends because they thought, ‘We weren’t good enough, we weren’t going to university because they predicted that we were less likely and they concentrated on kids who were. So I didn’t see the point of trying if they have already given up on me. Never the less, detentions and extra tuition formed the 3 of us, only that, I’ll thank my school for.”
